Hello everyone! I am brand spanking new to Paint and completely lost! I was referred here when asking how to edit an image I took. I took and image of a shoe on an all white background. However, there are shadows and you can see the seams in the background. I would like to brighten the white and remove shadows so that the shoe image looks professional. I tried uploading the image but it would not allow it........i will attempt again

Try to remove the current background completely using the Magic Wand. Click on an area you wish to remove with the Magic Wand. The selected area is highlighted with blue. Make sure as much of the area as possible is selected, then press the Delete key. You might need to adjust MW's Tolerance (in the area just above the canvas work space), but that is the quickest way to remove the wrinkles, shadows and such. Use the Eraser to remove anything missed by MW. Then replace the deleted area using the Paint Bucket tool. Alternately, you might try painting over the MW selected area with the Paint Bucket tool. The choice is mostly about which method is most efficient and effective.

Ok...the guy that originally wouldn't share gave me a few tips. he said that he enhances only the white portion three times 100% each time, then he goes back with the history brush and fills in the areas he wants the pictures original state. sometime the white background has blue undertones and he has to isolate only the blue sections and desaturate them then enhance the white..........


Ok now how in the world do I do all of that? haha

ermmm...is he using GIMP? Paint.net doesn't have a history brush...

Anyhow, there was a similar question asked a while back that got a lot of replies and different methods of doing this...

here are the first 3 shots of his progression.....it wont allow the last 3 or the images i took for whatever reason.grrrr....but you get the idea of what i am trying to do. it says he uses paitn......possibly photoshop???

hallo,you ask me in my topic how to use the programm to let your shoe looking more professional.if i got a answer i gone tell you it how it work,:roll:but i aint able to use the programm like many other artist in this forum.:)i youst use the pencil and the brush,andthe many kind of colurs if they are heavy or lighter.i youst use a very small part of paint.net,so sorry that i couldnt can help you.but here are very great guys wich can help,i am shure

The forum doesn't give you much file space to be sure. Try uploading the images to other sites like tinypic.com or photobucket.com , then using the image tags, post the pictures here like this:

@rick: sorry for my bad english,its hard for me to explain something.and now i know my translator is not the best:)
@pdnnoob:nice translation,and now i know your prob.but i see you got your answer with tinypic and photobucket,they change the size in forum-size;)
i using tinypic and a size of 800x600,thats all i do:/
