where do I download paint.net

I was looking to download paint.net and for all the goggling I did, each site said it was for paint.net and each one only had a link to download some hooky Download Manager that installs a whole bunch of useless ad on's to my Internet explorer but no paint.net. I eventually had to go in and delete the program and disable all their ad on's. I heard it was a good program to edit pictures that is suppose to be free. Even if it cost a few bucks, I'm still interested if I can try it out before I purchase it. Anyone here know where I can download paint.net? And what's up with this dumb Download Manager, sorry to sound angry but it's really frustrating to say the least.
Thanks

I believe that's the un-adulterated download ...
**EDIT: This link is the one you should eventually find on that destination page SOZO posted at the same time I replied with that.
Side note, the ads from Google unfortunately place Gimp and other things in and around the PDN sites and have huge DOWNLOAD buttons that are not for PDN. But without the ads, the forum etc cant happen. So its a double-edge sword for sure.

On the Paint.NET homepage, you'll see a link at the top of the right hand side called Paint.NET v3.5.10. Click it.
Thanks Sozo, I found it and now have it up and running...

Hello. I to am trying to download Paint.net, I had it before but my HD crashed and I lost it. Now when I go to the link you have given it takes me to the Optimum Downloader set up exe. After I download it, and when I click run, I don't get the Paint.Net program, I get a page with some cartoonish Deals thingy. Then a Norton pop up tells me that the Optimum is not safe and would not allow it. Also, That Optimum downloader says it will REPLACE you existing downloader. I just would love to get the Paint.net program back, I really liked it. How can I do that?

I got the same thing and Norton stopped it. So I can't seem to get the Paint.net program until someone can tell me how to bypass that Download Manger.

Norton stops all the things D: It wouldn't allow my computer to connect to my printer, it stopped me before I installed programs, and it even tried to block my computer at start-up.I got the same thing and Norton stopped it. Ok, so that last one was slightly exaggerated, but Norton was the reason my computer took 5 minutes just to load >.> Uninstalling it sped it up by about 80%. On top of that, my printer works now! Unless you have a top-notch computer, it uses way more resources than it should. My computer ran faster with viruses than with Norton. Norton didn't even find those viruses either. Recommendation: Kill Norton. It's a cure that's worse than the disease.
Kaspersky: actually knows what is a virus and what isn't.

When I finally found it on CNET Download.com I was able to download it easily with no add ons.

You get unwanted additions to the download by getting Paint.NET from questionable websites. CNET is one of them (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CNET). Do yourself a favor and re-read this post from NiteNurse79 - you can't go wrong downloading Paint.NET from the developers own website PROVIDED you read what you're downloading and don't just click on the first big button you see.
First go Here then click on the download as indicated in the screenshot below with the black arrow.

I feel so lame when it come to this stuff. It is very difficult to tell what is an ad and what isn't on my new laptop. Would anyone mind telling me what to click after you go to the link Sozo gave?
I kind of assumed you click on the picture that says "Download now - dotPDN" under the 'download' title/category-thinger, but I've already had a dud download with Paint.NET before, and am very cautious to click anything.
