(3/15/2012) After messing around yesterday trying to make a wood texture, I came across the "Texture" section of Tutorials.... here is a creation by following one of the tutorials.

(3/14/2012) Attempting to work on a wood texture, from there it turned into this... and other things that developed along the way (accidental art).

Interesting entanglement of PDN . . . Ash's Eye tut w/twist . . .
Slight variations between the same file....

(3/7/2012)Refreshing skills by attempting Tutorials (MadJik's Abstract II Tutorial)
None of these turned out as they were intended by the instructions but they could be useful... for something.

(3/1/2012) Like yesterdays experiments turned out better than todays.....

(2/29/2012)Been away for awhile.... put away the art..... just getting back at it with some basic playing around with the program... kind of simple but I like the way it turned out....

Sorry, I don't know how to make this smaller to fit the rules of 800 x 600 maximum picture size.
Edit.... figured out how to reduce the size of the image. Apologies.

So beautifully delicate, with a great color scheme and the centers remind me of beadwork. Nicely done for just getting back into it. :D
Your first one would make a wonderful signature while the second could easily be turned into a fascinating glossy orb. Something to ponder...

Thank you all for your replies and comments/compliments. Yes it was quite a while ago when I first found this software and joined this forum, and stayed active with the software for quite a while. Seems as though every time I put it down for long and come back here -- there have been so many changes that it is always like starting all over again. I am thankful for all the tutorials that users create and kindly post up. The ribbon art was done from one such tutorial way back from probably 2007.... and there are so many more now to go through and learn new and interesting stuff from. Along with learning the updates to the software, and I am sure there are a bunch of new plug-ins that uses have created. Seems so overwhelming at times... But I do so enjoy trying my hand at this type of thing, and am grateful to the developers here for the chance to use their program!

The ribbon art is beautiful. The minimal use of colour really make them pop.

Welcome back to the forums

I like the tile one a lot. Lovely colours that you use. Soft & pretty. Calming...

Doing the tutorials and learning the techniques, then putting your own twist on them, for me
is what it is all about.Keep up the good work and enjoy your happy accidents.I am enjoying seeing them. :)

Thank you all for the compliments! I don't know how much time I spent working on that wood texture the other day before I "remembered" the tutorial section!! Guess I am getting old and having some Homer (Simpson) moments.... DOH!

Thanks again all of you!
