Newbie question alert:

For part 2:

Then with orange as primary and brown as secondary do a linear gradient like this:

Where on the canvas do I do this?

As part 3 is duplicate layer, you could see the result of the gradient on the image...
Brown at the bottom and orange at the top of the text.

Sorry I'm a bit thick today

1) My first layer has the black background
2) My second has the orange Fire text

so far that works fine for me

The next step has the text changed to a gradient colour

However, when I create the gradient it takes up the whole page

How do I apply that gradient to the text? Do I apply it on the second layer, or create another layer, I just need to know how
to apply it

@Rowen77

Magic wand select the text with global on, and at 69% -ish tolerance ( When you select the Magic Wand change the Flood Mode to Global then do an Invert/ Ctrl I )

Here's mine. Tried to use some distortions in addition to the clouds and also did an object outline on the text to make it pop. Great Tutorial!

When I get down to the last step, and merge all the layers, my background isn't black anymore, it becomes the cloud layer. So, do you mean just merge the cloud layer and text layer, or all three like I've been doing?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out, sorry for the trouble.

Awesome. Do it with reverse text (flip horizontal?) and it'll be a branding iron!
