Centauri27
From what I've read in the documentation, the Eraser tool is suppose to erase the selected part of the image, make that spot transparent. I have two images on two separate layers and am trying to do just that: erase a bit of the top layer so that the bottom layer shows through. But no matter how I try, the Eraser tool is not working! Selecting the tool and erasing does nothing. Changing the brush size does nothing. Trying different images does nothing--the program is seemingly ignoring the erase. Does anyone have any ideas what's happening? I am running Paint.NET build 3.55.3767.28608 on Windows XP XP3.
Sarkut
If you press Esc first, will the Eraser tool work? Also, be sure that the top layer is highlighted as the active working layer. Edited October 21, 2010 by Sarkut
Centauri27
Yes, that did the trick--thanks for the tip!
Sozo
In the future, make sure that you don't have any selections active in the image, because the eraser will only work within the selection if one is active.
