Just another screenshot. Paint.NET v3.0 will start making use of what are known as "task dialogs" and "command links." Basically instead of having simple, horrible dialogs that ask complicated questions while being limited to OK/Cancel or Yes/No/Cancel responses, we have these larger buttons with more descriptive text. In this screenshot the mouse pointer is hovering over the 'save' button (aka command link, but the mouse pointer is not in the screenshot):

Edit: Yeah yeah there's a typo, thanks aatwo 8)

(Once again, that's a bunch of art from http://larenn.deviantart.com)

Oh, and this, some options for the color picker.

Another quick sneak peak at 3.0. This feature is addressing two major issues that I receive enough e-mail about to cause me to do this:

1) People ask to be able to change the tool that is active at startup. Many people are used to having a selection tool active for whatever reason.

2) I get a lot of e-mail from people asking why the magic wand and/or paint bucket tools are "broken". Either it fills/selects everything, or nothing. The reason is that they have accidentally set their Tolerance to 0% or 100%, and this setting is remembered when you quit (it is "sticky"). Also, many people accidentally click the alpha blending and/or antialiasing buttons and ask why there is such terrible quality drawing.

So, to address (1), you can choose what the startup tool is now. To address (2), none of the toolbar settings are "sticky." However you can now specify what their defaults should be:

it isn't really necessary, but when I was first juggling between Photoshop and Paint.NET, I would get mixed up as to which program I was in, for instance I am used to Ctrl+Shift+X to make it black and white, and that is the liquify tool in photoshop, so I would get confused.

And I don't really like the selection tools how they are just all S - S for elipse and rectangle - L for lasso - W for wand.

And a shortcut for changing brush sizes if possible.

Just little things, not very important, just aesthetic to me, maybe some others here too.
