I think your problem is with the noise & with the blur..
Other try, the image it only change and added some effects.

The shine effects won't work well on a white backgrounded image, and your picture window isn't centred, which breaks the shadows.

anyway :) i hitted align object centre and that was the outcome , il try later with dark but the tutorial is so long im tred :wink:

Edit your background to some darker color,
and edit the layer where you used the noise.. (needs more noise (65) and motion blur (50))

Very cool tutorial and amazing results! Three tumbs up :mrgreen:

Here's what I made. I started messing with the results, thus kind of ruining it a bit... :P

Arcturus was a norwegian avant-garde metal band. (it's also a star)

For the bulging I used rectangular to polar conversion

edit: I like the added color reflection thingy on the metal in your piece, joej45 :)

Nice tut. I didn't follow it to the letter - wanted to make my frame a wooden texture.
The reflections are a good touch, especially the windows (using various bulges).
