text change color afterwards

Hi, I made a drawing with 3 layers. One of the layers contains text I've made with the roll/rotate option to get some perspective design.

Now I have finished the total drawing I see that the text would be better in another color.

So I select the layer with the text to change the color, but I can't select the text and change color.

Is there a way to select text and change color or font, afterwards?

Since your text is in a separate layer it is possible.

 

Select the layer with the text and go to  Adjustments>Hue / Saturation.

It is a workaround but nut a nice way to select a color (e.g. white is not possible).

Maybe the conclusion is that the strenght of PN is not text handling.

Or maybe PN does have a hidden option to handle text... who knows?

Right. PDN isn't a word processor.

Not with Hue/Saturation, but of course in general, if you select the text and fill it with desired color or color gradient. The better way is to create a new text layer.

Since the text is on its own transparent layer it is an 'object'.

 

Forget that - it looks like you've put your text on an opaque white layer?

Put your text on a transparent layer. Use Hue/Saturation to adjust color. for white/black use the brightness slider..

Paint.net treats text like actual paint. Once it's on there, the only way to edit painted text is to sand it off and paint over it.

 

Dipsticks suggestion is a good one. It's akin to writing onto a whiteboard. You can erase the text and rewrite it without disturbing the rest of the image.
