Fire Effect (finally)

Recommended Posts

This is a very nice effect. If you want to have fire that's not just a border, use light gray color and blur it.

Here's what i did:

tomfirebf6.th.jpg

Click it because it's a thumbnail, so i won't break the layout on some screen resolutions.

I would love to replicate that effect. I'm trying, but the hint you've provided still leaves me a bit puzzled.

Would you be willing to PM me with full instructions on how you managed that? I mean, did you use gray to achieve the translucent wisps as well? The fire in the eyes is spectacularly done as well. This is amazing.

As far as the plugin itself, thank you so much for creating it! It has greatly simplified the various fire effects I have been trying out for text, not to mention the various other effects that can come from it. I think it would be nice if it had an slider for the curve RGB levels so that one can adjust the color right then and there... other than that, I love it!

That's pretty cool, the water makes it look nice, also I love how the buffalo bills logo is hidden lol.

Without knowing more about the package downloaded from 'portableturk.com', we can't help you very well. If, as you say, you only have a working EXE to speak of, then it doesn't sound as though you can install plugins the way you are supposed to, unless you install Paint.NET locally onto your computer from getpaint.net.

Perhaps someone else here familiar with the circumstance could lend a hand.

Is there any particular reason you are using a portable version? Furthermore, did you know that there is a better way to use Paint.NET 'portably'?

Looking at the screenshot on the site, either it is possible to install plugins or my copyright has been violated.

Edit: I suggest posting your question in that thread.

I have downloaded it, and yes, it includes Flag and several other 3rd party plugins.

The plugins are not released under the same license as Paint.NET. I know that you have not asked permission from plugin authors as one of my plugins (Flag) is included and I do not remember you asking me for this.

I took a look and it seems that they have included my plugin package as well. I posted about it. We'll see what they do.

This is awesome man, I have used this for many things

23qxus9.jpg

I used Shape 3D with this and red/black gradient for the planet and paint bucket(red) and Vinegrette for the backdrop

xD this planet got PWND!!!!

Hi folks, :D

me beeing a newbie to this stuff, by chance I came across this tut and the fire effect. I was fascinated by DominatorGTR's burning planet, so I asked him for a tut. I am so glad he answered me with a description of the necessary steps.

And now I want to share his posting with you since I am sure some of you are also new to this.

Here it is, thanx again to DominatorGTR !!

...I will give you a step-by-step tutorial on how to use it...

1. Open a new image. I used 800x600

2.Use Radial Gradient in the centre of the picture.(colour needs to be red)

3. Use the Fire! plugin.(settings: 2, 0.00, 1)

4. Use Dents(anything is fine, aslong as its distinct.

5. Use twist settings(71.00, 1.00, 0.00, 0.00, quality any)

6. create new layer and repeat step 2.

7. Use the Fire! plugin.(Settings: 223, 0.48, 19)

8. Use shape 3D, choose what angle you want.

9. Flatten, and your finished! =D

Feel free to mod this to make some good pictures! =D

Could I see the code?

I would like to see how it works.

[/takes a peek with reflector]

Um... no you wouldn't. Trust me.

You can always look at my flames plugin source code.

I'd just like to make a few small changes, if I can...

I wanted to see if I could give it a colour changing option...

But I suck at scripting...

I really like this effect a lot, I used it not on lettering tho, I used it on radiant as well and, as a paint.net 6 week veteran with all of 3 months total experience in graphicware I came up with this.
