  1. Haha. Yes, I play Halo.

  3. Thanks man! I might have it up tomorrow or sometime soon. It's a lot easier than the orb. That's pretty good for a first time, it looks very similar to mine. Good work! You just have to screw around with stuff like this to make a really good glass effect, that's how I found my methods.
  4. Yeah, I used 50%. Thanks by the way, I appreciate it!
  5. Cool! It would look even better with Ash's stem.

  7. As some people have seen, I made my version of the Windows Media Player 11's play buttons. Some people asked for a tut, so while I had some free time, decided to take another try. Make your own using my Tutorial! Effects used: Gaussian Blur Outline Object Align Object Feather 1. Open a new Image, 800x600. Fill it with the colour 0038AF. This should be a Dark Blue. 2. Add a new layer and select the Gradient Tool, using Radial and Colour Mode. Use 7DD4F9, a Bright Blue, and set the secondary to 0 Alpha. This will make it transparent. Now, start to make a circle with the Light Blue on the 2nd Layer, starting somewhere around 400,530. End at 400,300. Select the Gaussian Blur tool, and set it at 7. This should give the gradient a much nicer blend into the Blue. 3. Now merge the two layers, and call it orb. Select the Eclipse Select tool (:EllipseSelectTool) , and by holding down the Mouse and Shift, make a circle, about 460x460 pixels wide. Select the Move Selection tool () and move the circle so the bottom is somewhere in the center of the Light Blue Gradient. Line it up as center as possible, but do NOT use the Align Object tool, it will ruin it. As soon as you have it as good as it will get, Click CTRL + I, and then DEL. This will leave a Circle, with the Gradient in it. It may be a little :AntiAliasingOff:, but using the Feather tool with Radius=7, and Strength=5, it will clean it up. 4. Now, use the Align Object tool. Make the Orb sit in the Middle Center. 5. Duplicate the layer, and call it outer_orb. Using the Rectangle Select tool , select around the circle. Now grab onto the corner, holding down Shift, drag it a little bit, to create the "Border" effect used on the orb. Repeat the Align Object. 6. Go back to the orb layer. Select the Outline Object effect. Set it so Width=6, Softness=254, Color=R(109),B(255),G(211). Make sure Angled isn't checked. This will make a nice glow on the orb. 7. Now to add the Shine. Add a new layer, call it shine orb. Select the Line tool, using white. Start at 175,282, and make a line to the middle of the orb. Now Curve it to look something like mine. Connect it with several other lines going around the orb, like so. 8. Fill in the Shape using the Paint Bucket. Unfortunately, you will have to touch up any pixles that weren't coloured in with the Paintbrush or Pencil. 9. Select the Magic Wand tool. On the Layer orb, select the area around the orb. go back to the Shine layer and hit DEL. Now it will be a bit :AntiAliasingOff:, so with the Outline Object efect, set it to Width=3, Softness=254, Color=White. Now it will be a little big, so move it so the outline of the Shine is touching the outline of the orb, not the glow. 10. Use the Rectangle Select tool, and select the shine to where it meets the center. Hit CTRL + C, and open up a New Layer. Press CTRL + V, and it will paste it. Now go to Layers, Flip Horizontal. And Voila! You may move it so it lines up correctly. Flatten all Shine Layers. (Not the whole Image!) 11. Now to add a little Gradient. Use the Gradient Tool with Transparency Mode this time. Set it to Radial, and start from the Middle Top of the circle, and end at about 401,374. Now use the tool with Linear instead of Radial, and repeat what we just did. 12. Now for the Shine on the Border layer. Create another layer, and get the line tool again. Make the line line up with the other shine. 13. Now got back to the Outer Orb layer, and repeat the Object Outline tool effect we used for step 6, only set the Width to 3, not 6. It should look very nice at this point. 14. Now, still on the Outer Orb layer, use the Object Outline effect at Width=10, Softness=254, and Colour=Black. 15. Now to start the Black Ring around the Orb. Add a new layer, and bring it to the bottom. Call it border. Make another circle, using the same technique as Step 3, only using the Eclipse Tool, set to Draw . Make the circle bigger than the Orb, like my picture. The colour should be 2D2D2D, a nice Dark Grey. 16. Now, add another Shine to the Black Outline. I think you know what to do. 17. On the Black Border layer, make an Outline using Width=30, Softness=225, and Color=Black. 18. Now for a final touch: Combine the Black Border and its Shine layers, and set the opacity to 240 to give it a really cool effect. Voila! You have now made the orb! Show it off here, I would like to see other results! I will expand this and make a Tutorial about the triangle too, but I think this is good for now.
  8. ...What?

  10. I know the feeling Great job on the buttons and that wallpaper is pretty damned cool. All PDN ? You bet, everything there (Except the right of the wallpaper) is done in PDN. Never used anything else.

  12. Thanks! I'll try and do it again since it looks really :AntiAliasingOff:, but I was just doing it for fun. Expect some more work!

  14. Anyone with Windows Vista will have seen the impressive glass designs, and one of those is the Play Button on WMP. Now with all my new skills learned, made these for fun. Take a look, comment, or try it for yourself! I don't think I'll really be making any tutorial yet, as I forget how I did it really... Cool custom Wallpaper, you may use it if you like! Link: http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh277/puddleofmudd25/wallpaper-2.jpg I think these may be some of my best work yet.
