  1. Crashed while using this plugin. If you think it's a brush issue for some reason let me know and I'll post the brush used. File below since I don't have the energy to figure out which file extensions are allowed for attachment, but apparently I have the time to write this.... Great plugin BTW Application version: Paint.NET v3.36 (Final Release build 3.36.3158.38068) Time of crash: 9/4/2008 8:15:48 AM Application uptime: 00:03:35.8750000 OS Version: 5.1.2600.131072 Service 2. Background fractal from one of my own created using chaoscope. You can see it here.
  3. Very ture, I agree it should be made ONLY using PDN. However, not everybody wants to show the PDN file. It's something that needs looking into. I agree with work only slightly modified, may not be considered Paint.NET material, but this program is first and foremost an image editing program. In that, any image edited in Paint.NET should be able to be considered. Of course a side by side before and after would be nice to see. Also I like to use stock photography and stock images created in Chaoscope and various other programs. Sometimes there is so much editing you get an entirely new image. I think that these should be considered also, but with a listing of what was used. Showing more then 100% PDN images allows people to see more possibilities for PDN.
  4. The lines won't line up perfectly in real life anyway. There is an edge around the glass that "hides" or blurs the line connections from the eyes. You brain fills in what it thinks is supposed to be there.
  5. @verndewd: Looks like your pushing for liquid cooled intel
  6. thats what I use too. I love it, small and it works for anything that has a print option (which is almost everything).
  7. Actually, no, it wouldn't. Plugins in and of themselves don't slow PdN down at all, aside from while you're running them. You'd still have small, fast PdN, but you'd have a plugin that replicates something that is already done by other programs...it's a matter of whether there's enough benefit to adding it as a plugin vs. just using another app and importing the rendered image from there. I made too broad a statement
  8. It would also slow PDN down if you had a lot of 3d rendering options, personally I love how small and fast it is.
  9. If I defragment will that mess anything up?? I can't misconfig it messes up my internet connection a huge mess with Dell when I had to do it. It shouldn't mess anything up. All defragmenting does is rearrange the order of the files' location on the hard drive. It's like cleaning up a cabinet. You want all your related stuff next to each other so it's easier and faster to get to.
  10. You can also use the frosted glass (or the cool new plugin frosted glass+) with blurs. You will need to use quite a few layers. Frost glass your text the use motion type blurs.
  11. That doesn't mean much. That's like saying that your car has leather seats. We want to know the engine size, the horsepower, the type of gas you're putting in. That is to say, we want to know what your RAM size is, your processor speed, etc. Also, "It Wasn't A Problem Before" suggests that you might have a virus or spyware. Have you checked that recently? Agreed. Virus or spyware is always a logical choice. Also did you install any new programs recently, especially ones that run in the background(ex: how many icons do you have in the corner of your task bar)? EDIT: Also how long have you had your computer? 6months-1 year or longer? After 6 months or more of adding new programs and other things your computer will suddenly "slow down" for "no reason". It happens all the time, normaly to people who don't fully understand that they are adding background programs, filling up the desktop, not cleaning old and temp files, not defragmenting, etc. If there is more then one user on your computer then this problem gets magnifyed by the number of users. (if a whole family is using one computer then it will get "bogged down" faster). Just looking at the info you gave your computer should be able to easily handle PDN with multiple images open. My suggestion then would be the following: 1. Run a virus and trojan check 2. Clean out all adware 3. Remove programs from the taskbar that you don't use, or at least close them. 4. Remove old programs you no longer use (add/remove programs app) 5. Remove everything from your desktop, unless you use it all the time 6. Clean up the start menue (remove stuff you don't use) 7. Delete your .temp files (in the Temp folder C:\WINDOWS\Temp) 8. Run disk defragmentor. (do it overnight since it will take awhile) 9. Periodically restart your comp (every few days or after program installs) Hope this helps
  12. @aile -love it! @janettsue - top notch, well done adding depth with Gentree. @swistak - awsome! the boat lost its cargo :o Three different trys at making fractals with PDN; although I added stuff so it dosen't look pure fractal. Please leave comments here about ways to make them more believable. http://81mm.deviantart.com/gallery/
  13. Used dents and shape 3d on this one. Used dents, sine wave, (edit: used a slight polar inversion to get that little fractile look)and one other thing besides blurs that you will notice if you look close Great pics everybody! @ash like your stuff per usual, one the underwater scene the light rays could use a little softening unless your going for surreal
