Create Rectangle with Rounded Corners in JPG Format
Pixey replied to gnulab's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Okay, you need to practice using layers ....... and to get used to what the "select" an image can do. 1. On one layer, have your scanned image. 2. Draw a rounded rectangle on a new layer: rectangle shape found in the shapes area, under basic shapes. 3. With the magic wand, select the inside of the rectangle. Check flood mode (in the upper bar on the canvas) is set to 'contiguous'. 4. Move to the image layer and use Ctrl + I on the keyboard, which will invert the selection. 5. Then hit Crop to selection - or just hit delete. 6. Uncheck the rectangle layer and flatten. 7. Use AA's Assistant to clean up. But, remember that saving as .png will retain transparency. -
Create Rectangle with Rounded Corners in JPG Format

Another way, because jpg is not transparent, is to draw a rounded rectangle, slightly smaller than your scanned image then: 1. select inside the rectangle. 2. go to the image, then hit delete. 3. hide your rectangle layer and flatten. 4. Use AA's Assistant to clean up. -
Error installing Paint.NET - Windows 11
Pixey replied to Whirlygig's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
You could also try the offline installer: https://github.com/paintdotnet/release/releases -
As mentioned in the other thread, you will find it under Effects > Objects. Not in Adjustments. Or, perhaps you are looking for this one:
-
Here's how on one layer. 1. draw the line at #10. 2. Select the bottom and fill. Duplicate and merge a few times. 3. AA's Assistant. 4. Select the top and fill.
-
Not on one layer. Here is an example using a couple of Plugins. 1. draw the line in its own layer. 2. Select the bottom of the line 3. Make a new layer and fill the blue. 4. Go back to the line and select, make a new layer and fill with 2nd color. 5 Uncheck the line layer. 6. On both colors use the Plugin Blur Blend set at about 27. 7. Use AA's Assistant on both layers until you see a sharper edge on both. 8.Then go to "outline' and change the color accordingly on both layers until it fills up.
-
You could also: 1. Draw your curve and fill the first color. 2. Gaussian Blur. 3. Fill the second half.

Pattern for string art

I must be blind - I only just noticed in the first post that there was a face 🤣 -
The author @PhilipLB, on his first attempt at a Plugin, has not logged in since 2008, so he's unlikely to see this request. However, I have downloaded it and run it through my Malware and it is safe

You could draw a circle and fill it with diagonal lines, then use @Red ochre's Cobweb Plugin: -

How to get colors to Gradient Effect by color picker
Pixey replied to bflmpsvz's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
@bflmpsvz do forgive me for not being very helpful. I'm still not 100% sure what you are trying to accomplish 😁 If you are trying to use the gradient that you prefer, all at once, perhaps make a mask the size you want, then select the mask and on a new layer use the gradient. -

Yes, if you have the space selected, like in your example, just pick the color and then hit "Backspace". See Keyboard and Mouse shortcuts here. -
How to get colors to Gradient Effect by color picker

You need to click More on the colors window and add the colors manually: < Clickable> Or: When the Color Gradient is open, the color picker on the color wheel of the color Gradient works fine for me. -

You do sound very frustrated @Garrymo as would I, if I was trying to use paint.net in Spanish 😁 Surely there must be way for you to download paint in English? Perhaps try downloading it from the offline installer, found here: https://github.com/paintdotnet/release/releases/tag/v5.0.13

Pixey replied to toe_head2001's topic in Plugins - Publishing ONLY!
I'm posting here because I'm not certain which plugin I was using at the time of the crash, but I think it was Shape Maker. Here is the crash log: -
Using Fn and Print Screen I tried both Firefox and Chrome and both came out alright. I found the image on here.
