I don't think this is the same thing. A rep from the display company told me that this "outline fonts" feature of Photoshop does not actually create a visible outline or border on the text in the image, it simply "informs" the program that the fonts in the image are actually text entries, not just image graphics, so when the image is closed and loaded again, Photoshop recognizes fonts and renders them as vectors, rather than as rasters like the "graphic" part of the image. I have to create a TIF for a tabletop display, and one of the requirements is that I "outline fonts". I was told that Photoshop has this option when saving the TIF. Does Paint.NET have this option? Can I somehow do this? Michael

kway, To print the 2x3 picture actual size, I sized the picture so and then changed the canvas size to 8.5x11, then printed on a heavy stock sheet of paper to a color printer. Last step is to get the scissors out... Michael

Great idea, but it didn't work for me; it printed much larger than 2x3 inch. I have a jpg that is set with a print size of 2x3, but the resolution is 230 pixels/inch, which makes it 690x459 pixels. Does it have to be set to a lower resolution in order to print properly with MS Paint? Michael

When I right-click from Explorer and select Print, the Photo Printing Wizard starts up. Maybe you have some software installed that is set as the Print action. I suppose I could just expand the canvas to 4x6 and print it. It should keep the picture sized the way I have it then when I tell the lame Photo Printing Wizard to print 4x6. Anyone else have any ideas? Michael

Hi all: I modified, cropped, and resized a digital photograph in order to fit in a small picture frame. When I try to print it, the "photo printing wizard" gives me only a few printing options like full page, 5x7, 4x6, wallets, etc. How do I print something in the actual size set from the Image -> Resize feature in PDN? The frame is 2x3, by the way, which is how I sized the photograph. Michael

So does this mean that the file is actually 96 DPI or it is just being read as 96 DPI? Here's my scenario with v2.62. I create a new image at 350 DPI, use the text tool and type some text, then save as TIF. Using the Windows Explorer to check properties shows it as 96 DPI. Using resize in PDN lists 96 as the DPI.

OK, thanks for confirming. I can see the benefit of this, if you are editing multiple pictures and would like to set the same settings. However, since I am not a professional graphics editor or photographer, and my use is occasional, I find the feature to be confusing and a little dangerous. When I open a new picture, I want to see the picture as it is, not as it would look with the same modifications applied as the last picture I edited. Maybe this "feature" should be an option that is settable in some sort of global preferences area. Just my two cents. I think the program is fantastic, anyway! Michael

Today I noticed that if I changed the brightness or the luminosity curve on an open picture, save it, then open a new picture (by drag and drop), the brightness and luminosity curve settings of the last picture remain and are applied to the new picture. I would think that they would reset to zero. Is this a feature or a bug? Michael
