Paint.NET is a very useful tool and does everything I needed from Photoshop. Except for one thing: in Photoshop it's possible to adjust the text kerning/spacing. This was not possible in Paint.NET and I couldn't find a plugin for it. So I decided to write one myself! Please let me know of any issues and/or feature requests! Make sure to create a new layer when using this effect! Your best bet is ShapeMaker (link in my signature) with the grid feature turned ON. The grid itself cannot be modified, so you can't set the grid size. The Shape can be zoomed in and out to get around this.

I present 'King of the Underworld' This was not intended as I was just playing around...and then, I saw 'him' in the abstract, so I ran with it. A bit macabre, I know, but an art creation nonetheless. This piece has thirteen layers (hahaha 13!) How ironic is that? WELCOME..... I hope I didn't scare you.
