Galleria: The Paint.NET Art Gallery

BoltBait

Recommended Posts

Hello, and welcome to the Paint.NET Gallery.

This thread is dedicated to showcasing the "best of the best" that our members have to offer.
Please take your time to look around. If you like a piece and would like to comment on it, please follow the provided link and make comments on the original thread.
I think you will be amazed at what can be created with Paint.NET.

Nominating to the Gallery

To be eligible, a piece of artwork must be created or edited in Paint.NET. All categories of art will be considered.
When you see a piece of artwork in another thread within The Pictorium that you really like and would like to nominate it to The Galleria, simply click that post's "Report" icon: :Warning: Report
In the report form, type "Galleria nomination" and mention which piece you would like to nominate to The Galleria and what you like about the piece.
If one of the mods agrees, the art will be displayed in The Galleria. If not, the report will simply be closed.
Be patient. This process can take a couple of days. Be assured, we will review every nomination.

This is probably my favorite and most accomplished piece of art, to date. I later adapted it for use in my signature and avatar. If anyone is interested in how this was created, please read the tutorial.

BoltBait love the plugins. This is pastel over ink. It doesn't hurt to have a great picture to work with. My brother took this one.

Up first is the coolest thing I've ever done with Paint.NET: Morning Glory. Only the grass was derived from a stock image, the rest is all PdN.

I also like drawing fish and birds. This one has been in the pictorium previously. And it will be undergoing some changes. It has now become a work in progress. The plan is to add some more marine life.

Most of the stuff I do is either testing of my plugins or "photochops". Here is a sample of one of my photochops: The pictures of my front yard were taken about 1-2 weeks apart. On the sunny day I had my daughter stand on the left end of the seesaw and I tried to stand in the same place with the camera. That part was done from memory so it wasn't perfect. (Thanks to Helio for nominating me.)

Lone Nebula: First make a basic noise starfield on Background layer (their are oodles of tutorials). Then on a new layer, do Tom's Fire tutorial with a radial gradient instead of a linear one. Change blend mode to additive. Use Color Balance to add color, and done. I did a little bit more on lone nebula though. I believe I duplicated the layer, ran Sepia, and then did a transparent gradient on it.

100% PdN This picture in my gallery is hand-made (this means that only the "tools" box was used: no plugins and no effects). This picture is derived from the one that won the first free-handing contest.

I just had to post this someday, it cracks me up. Here is the very first screenshot of Paint.NET ever taken. It's from February 4th, 2004 -- less than 2 weeks after development had begun: You can recognize a few things that survived to this day, and ... well, I guess there wasn't really much there to not-survive  A little piece of history...

Welcome, dear reader, to my gallery. This is where I'll put all my awesome Paint.NET works for you to look at and love and comment upon. My style trends primarily toward photomanipulation, so there'll be a lot of that in your future if you're planning on scrolling down. So, dear friend, look on, read on, and enjoy. I make these for you.

It is chaotic and ordered at the same time. Much how I feel my life has been of late. I was wondering if I work in an odd way while doing abstracts or if others work in a similar way? I never have just one file open. For this I had three files open all with multiple layers, saving images I like and importing them into another open file along the way until I get where I am going which is not always something I know when I start doing an abstract. Very unlike how I work when I am doing a realistic image.

"She makes my heart sing" EDIT I guess I should put in the inspiration. I was listening to a Jimi Hendrix tune "Wild thing, you make my heart sing" and as usual in my off tone voice I was singing at the top of my lungs the WRONG words!

I had the idea for the next image when I was doing the spark plug one, and it developed into a dedication to oma for all her advice and tutorials. The dials are stock and I traced the outline of the anvil Gas Attaxe.

All I did with my bird was follow my fiancee into Michael's (a craft store) and buy a book called camouflaged birds (I think). Someone else did the drawing, I just did the coloring.

Thanks so much for this tutorial, I am fairly inexperienced with the program and this helped me immensely! I am working on a school project in which I had to create a "work of art" which could be a painting, song, poem, etc. But I am not very gifted in the arts, so I asked if I could stage a photograph. My project is about the Great Depression so I took several pictures of my brother in an empty lot across the street from us. I plan to use this picture (below) and two others to create a photo collage mounted on black foam board. I couldn't have created this without this tutorial thank you so much! I followed the "Process of Antiquing" a photograph tutorial.

Well, took me 3~4 days to get the planet straight, then 4 hours to finish the rest. Aside from the "stocks" mentioned in the link. It's all me, and it's all Paint.NET. For people who want to get in on planet-like space art, this excellent tutorial by DevART user alyn has literally taken me all the way from this: ...to the pic shown below.
